The Concord-Carlisle High School Concert Band has gone to Hokkaido during the April vacations of 1998, 2004, and 2007. Each trip consisted of two parts. The tours began in Sapporo, the capital city of Hokkaido, where they played concerts with the Sapporo Shiroishi Symphonic Wind Ensemble. After their time in Sapporo, which also included home stays and tours of many historical, cultural, and natural sites, the band went to Nanae, its sister city, near the city of Hakodate at the southern tip of Hokkaido.
